TikTok makes me anxious. I hate how hours can fly by while you are stuck in a loop of temporary–albeit instantaneous–bursts of dopamine. Once you escape its addictive feed, you realize how much attention you have given to something that does not really mean anything. So I deleted the app. But it is not just TikTok. Social media capitalizes on their audience’s attention and they will do anything to keep it. Overstimulated is a reminder to take a step back from being online and spend time on things that are more meaningful. Your mental health will thank you for it.
